Buckle Up: Jose Canseco Is Joining The A's TV Coverage As An On-Air Analyst

Hold onto your dicks — Jose Canseco is joining NBC Sports California’s television coverage of the Oakland A’s as an analyst, doing their pre and postgame shows.

This is gonna be WILD. I don’t know if it’s possible, but I’m contacting my cable provider today to see if there’s a way that I can get this channel as part of my package or if it’s possible to stream it somehow. Why? You know why. You KNOW that he’s going to say something that’s going to end up right back here on this blog. It honestly might even happen on a nightly basis. That’s how high my expectations are for this hire.

He’s exactly what the baseball media landscape needs. We already have a bunch of robots that are programmed to say whatever their networks want them to say, almost like a friggin’ propaganda channel. If you think that’s what you’re getting from Jose Canseco, then you don’t know Jose Canseco. It would not surprise me at all if this dude just straight up outed somebody for PED use on the air out of nowhere. Like, broadcaster X is talking about player Y and how they went 3-for-4 with two homers and a double, and Canseco just blurts out, “Yeah, that’s great and all, but I personally injected so-and-so with steroids. Like, last week.” Ugh. You ever wonder what a loser baseball blogger fantasizes about? It’s shit like that.

Too much of TV sports coverage is routine and bland. You need somebody like Jose who can come in and shake things up. If the baseball media market is Gotham City, Jose Canseco is most definitely The Joker. Madness, as you know, is like gravity. All it takes is a little push.
